Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., along with our affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “Samsung”) respects your concerns about privacy. This Samsung TV Plus U.S. Privacy Notice (this “Privacy Notice”) applies to the personal information we obtain through the Samsung TV Plus Application and Samsung TV Plus on the web (collectively, the “Services”). It does not apply to information collected by other apps, websites, or services provided by Samsung

This Privacy Notice supplements the Samsung Privacy Policy for the U.S. (available at https://account.samsung.com/membership/terms/privacypolicy ) (“Samsung US Privacy Policy”) and provides additional information about how we may collect, use, and share your personal information in connection with the Services. In the event any portion of this Privacy Notice conflicts with the Samsung US Privacy Policy, the relevant provisions of this Privacy Notice will govern.

Information We Obtain

The types of personal information we may obtain through your use of the Services include those listed in the Samsung US Privacy Policy, including the following:

• Samsung account information: Samsung account information such as your Samsung account ID, as well as when you sign in to Samsung account to use the Services or sign in to Samsung account on your device;
• Information about your Samsung TV Plus app-enabled devices, such as hardware information, including manufacturer, device type, carrier and model, operating system (OS) version, IP address, and device identifiers and other unique identifiers, including Google Ad ID;
• Information about your usage of the Services, including how, when, and for how long you use the Services;
• Viewing information, such as the networks, channels, and programs viewed on the Services, including favorites, most recently viewed, watch list, and hidden channels, as well as the amount of time spent viewing them See “Use of Viewing Information” below; and
• If you turn on “Customization Service” (available in the Samsung account settings), demographic information (such as age and gender related information) and interests (such as the type of industries, news, and shopping and brand information).

The Samsung US Privacy Policy (available at https://account.samsung.com/membership/terms/privacypolicy ) also describes other information we may collect, including through cookies and third-party analytics services.

How We Use the Information We Obtain

We may use the information we obtain through the Services as described in the Samsung US Privacy Policy and to:

• identify and authenticate you so that you may use the Services;
• provide you with the Services, including providing you with specific content within the Services based on your IP address, as well the ability to save channels to favorites and to stop or continue watching a certain program;
• improve and customize your experience with the Services, such as delivering content and responses tailored to you and the way you interact with the Services. If “Customization Service” is turned on (available in the Samsung account settings), the Customization Service information described above will also be used to provide personalized features, such as personalized content recommendations;
• respond to your requests, inquiries, and instructions made through or about the Services;
• with your separate consent (available in the Samsung account settings), deliver special offers and promotional communications; and
• for advertising and with your separate consent, deliver personalized advertisements, sponsored content, and promotional communications (such as through Samsung Ads; more details, including additional information obtained, how it is used, and how to opt-out, is available at https://www.samsung.com/us/account/privacy-policy/samsungads/). If “Customization Service” along with the use of viewing are turned on (available in the Samsung account settings), your viewing information will also be used to provide personalized advertisements. For Samsung TV Plus on the web, you can opt out of personalized advertisements in privacy settings on the Samsung TV Plus on the website;
• with your separate consent to “Improved personalized ads with Samsung account data,” to use data collected through the Service with Samsung account data to provide personalized advertisements. • allow you to interact with and use participating and connected Samsung and third-party services when you sign in to the Services with your Samsung account, to allow you to interact with connected Samsung apps (for example, to allow you to view your saved favorites on the Samsung TV Plus App in the Watch tab of Samsung Free);
• operate, evaluate, and improve the Services and our business (including developing new products and services, enhancing and improving our products and services, managing our communications, analyzing our products, services, and customer base, conducting market research, performing data analytics, and performing accounting, auditing, and other internal functions);
• with your separate consent, send you direct marketing via push notifications; and
• generate insights relating to the use of the Services for the use of business partners and advertisers.

We use and combine the information we collect about you from the Services with data from other services, features, or devices you use, such as when you log into your Samsung account in Samsung Free or Smart TV. Your information is automatically synced so that you maintain your preferences or settings information such as your favorite channels and Continue Watching feature, as well receiving personalized features as described above in the Watch tab of Samsung Free or Samsung TV Plus for Smart TV.

The Services provides the ability to connect to or show other websites, apps, services, and other features. For example, programs you can view are provided by third-party content providers. Third-party websites, apps, services, and features may operate independently from us and may have their own privacy notices or policies. Review them to ensure that you understand how they process your information. To the extent that any other linked or shown website, app, service, or other feature is not owned or controlled by us, we are not responsible for its content, use, or privacy practices.

Use of Viewing Information

We obtain and use your personal data to provide you with the Services. For example, we obtain information such as what channel you select in order to provide the content for that channel. Some features available in the Services may require your viewing information, such as saving channels to favorites and to stop or continue watching a certain program.

Your viewing information is also used to evaluate and improve the Services so that we may analyze and fix errors or see the types of content that users enjoy to improve the type of content offered through the Services.

With your separate consent, your viewing information also may be used to provide interest-based advertisements, as described above.

Information Sharing

As stated above, this Privacy Notice supplements the Samsung US Privacy Policy (available at https://account.samsung.com/membership/terms/privacypolicy ), which describes our information sharing practices.

Opt-out of Sale or Sharing : For TV Plus on the web, to opt out of the sale of your personal information, you may either (1) click on the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link made available on the TV Plus on the web website; or (2) select “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the Privacy Settings on the TV Plus on the web website. Please note that if you clear your cookies on a particular browser or device, you may need to resubmit your opt-out request again from that device or browser.

State Law Privacy Rights

If you reside in certain states, you may have rights and choices concerning your personal information. Updates to This Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time and without prior notice to you to reflect changes in our personal information practices with respect to the Services. We will indicate at the top of this Privacy Notice when it was most recently updated.
